Which is the weepiest movie of them all???

OK, so in a few days I'm going to attempt to list all the movies you guys have said made you cry, cry and cry some more. But in this list there are a few that have been mentioned again and again. Interestingly, these seem to be romances (or rather sad romances as it happens). So, I've taken the top 5 most mentioned love stories and now its up to you guys to vote which is the weepiest of them all!

So look - eyes right - and you'll see the poll at the top of the sidebar there. You've got till the end of the month to VOTE - let's see which is the winner huh? And at the same time (ie end of July) Jude and I will draw the winner from the competition and send out the books and other prizes (which naturally include chocolate!!!)

Meanwhile, have you seen the new daily online read over at eharlequin?! I've been looking forward to this one for a while. It's by my fellow Kiwi Yvonne Lindsay and I've just read the first chapter - can't wait for tomorrow! Go and read it now!!!

What a great idea Nat. I have to say PS I Love you made me cry buckets, so much so that my teenage son who was with me in the cinema had to go sit somewhere else he was so embarrassed.

Might add I'll be blogging on it in the Friday Film Night slot over on the Pink Heart Society on 25th July.

I have to admit I haven't seen that one but I know the premise and that's enught to let me know that I'm not going to watch that one unless I need a really big cathartic experience... tooooo sad!!! I'll read your post on the 25th and see if it'll make me change my mind!

PS your son makes me laugh - sweet teenagers!

I would probably have to cast my vote gorgeous Gerard Butler's way in any case, however, I honestly believe PS I Love You deserves the tick for Weepiest Movie of them All. Made me cry like every 2 seconds. Haven't shed so many tears since Stepmom.

Heidi, I'll check out the film slot on Friday night. =)

Hi Nat, thank you so much for talking about my online!

OMG, weepy movies? I avoid them like the plague and when one sneaks up on me my kids and dh spend half the movie time watching me to see just when I'll spring a leak. I even cry watching the SPCA programme on TV! Seems the older I get the weepier I get. Can't stand it! :-) Just wish I could remember where I left my sangfroid.

Oh Robbie - Stepmom was another shocker for the tears wasn't it? I was so cross cos I had no idea that was about to happen and it caught me out bigstyle!

Yvonne - I'm loving the online read - of course the minute I finished last night's chapter I clicked on the 'read an excerpt' of CLAMIING HIS RUNAWAY BRIDE and now I want to read all of that too - when is it out in Oz/NZ????!!!!

Gerard Butler, now that's what I call a man. And if the vote was for sexiest, most drool worthy lead male in those films I'd have picked PS I Love You.
Now, I'm gonna be honest here because I believe its the best policy...I did not like the book and even though the film held no resemblance to the book, I did not like the film either. Adored Gerard, Hilary was fab but try as I might, I couldn't enjoy it. I even tried to force myself to shed a few tears so as to blend in with all my friends who were in hysterics, but alas my eyes remained dry.
I guess it just failed to move me. Love Story on the other hand had me in convulsions. Perhaps because they played out her death, I don't know. But even had they played out Gerry's death I still would have found him to attractive to cry over.

Am I a terrible person?
Aideen.

LOL Aideen! Of course not;) Talk to Jude about Gerry - I think she's his numero uno fan altho maybe you'd give her a run for her money... I haven't seen PS I love You - not sure I want to because I already know what happens and I HATE it when one half dies (doesn't everyone) - bad enuff when its unexpected in a movie but not sure I class it as 'entertaining' enough to cope with when I know what's going to happen and I know I'm going to feel awful for them. Gimme a good rom com instead!

Nat, I'm with you on the Rom Coms. Recently enjoyed Fools Gold which was a nice bit of fluff, although I didn't think the chemistry between Matt McC and Kate H was as strong as it was in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Oh, and Claiming His Runaway Bride is out in Aus/NZ in September! Yay! Although I'm sure if you can't wait that long I could send you a copy...

P.S. Aideen, I love your name!

Ah, thanks Yvonne, that's an unexpected compliment.
And I'm a liking Jon, very sharp. I like my men in books to have an edge and this man certainly seems to possess one. I love the Desire line, scorching and sizzling, all those 's' words.
Can't wait for chapter 3!!

Aideen.

Hi Yvonne - what an offer! I LOVE your books :) You know I've been trying to see 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' for EONS - my DVD store NEVER has it in and I really want to see it cos it sort of strikes me as a good Mod Heat movie... hmmm... might have to reserve it or something! ;)
The online read is good isn't it Aideen - I'm guessing she has some pretty strong motivation for wanting this promotion so bad - does she have a need for money or something???!!!!
