"When I was about 10, I went to Breakfast at Tiffanys with my mother and sister. At the end of the movie, they couldn't find me. That being the days when, in Oamaru no-one locked their cars, they went out to the car, and found me sobbing inconsolably on the back seat. They quickly reassured me that Holly Golightly had got her man, and i replied "But what about the cat?". What I was cryiing about was the cat sitting forlornly on the fire escape in the rain, when Holly and her man broke up and left the apartment. Good news was, the cat got reunited and dry, and I finally stopped crying. Postscript: 36 years later, I went to Tiffany's in New York, and looked for a little something to bring back to my mother for Christmas. I found a cup and saucer with the music + words of Moon River (B at T theme song) written on the porcelain. My mother got it immediately she saw the famous blue box, and the cup and saucer became a major talking point in her house. Since she died, it now has pride of place in mine!"
Don't forget its not too late to enter the weeipe movies competition - you have til the end of the month to email in the name of the movie that made you cry the most.
