Breakfast at Tiffany's

I've forgotten to put up Paddy's story and I promised to do that in the weekend! Here it is - made me smile... and there are some other 'why's' behind the movie picks to come over the next few days...

"When I was about 10, I went to Breakfast at Tiffanys with my mother and sister. At the end of the movie, they couldn't find me. That being the days when, in Oamaru no-one locked their cars, they went out to the car, and found me sobbing inconsolably on the back seat. They quickly reassured me that Holly Golightly had got her man, and i replied "But what about the cat?". What I was cryiing about was the cat sitting forlornly on the fire escape in the rain, when Holly and her man broke up and left the apartment. Good news was, the cat got reunited and dry, and I finally stopped crying. Postscript: 36 years later, I went to Tiffany's in New York, and looked for a little something to bring back to my mother for Christmas. I found a cup and saucer with the music + words of Moon River (B at T theme song) written on the porcelain. My mother got it immediately she saw the famous blue box, and the cup and saucer became a major talking point in her house. Since she died, it now has pride of place in mine!"

Don't forget its not too late to enter the weeipe movies competition - you have til the end of the month to email in the name of the movie that made you cry the most. Then Jude and I will draw a winner and s/he'll recieve copies of our latest releases, choccies, Scottish Highland delights, something Kiwiana and more!!!

Oh, that's such a sweet story.
I think its wonderful when a film can evoke such powerful memories and still hold true today.
Another fabulous film and certainly a tear jerker...especially for those cat lovers out there!!
