Last days of September...

.. so its your last chance to scoop BOUGHT: ONE NIGHT, ONE MARRIAGE from the shelves in the UK (but you can always get it on the M&B site!) and from October it'll be available on Harlequin Australia - a month before hitting the shelves in Australasia :)

Meanwhile, I discovered ALL NIGHT WITH THE BOSS is out in Spain at the moment - what do you think of the cover - I think its quite the biz myself... now you could get it from Harlequin Iberica but it says its 'libro agotado' - which according to Babel Fish Translation means 'exhausted book' but I'm guessing it means its sold out ;)

And revisions are coming along - well, I spent about 6 hours on 20 pages yesterday so its a long slow process but it'll get there.... eventually!

A week of madness...

... apologies in advance for some more blog silence. I have a really busy week where I need to nail these revs and celebrate my babies second birthdays. Add to that a night at the opera, a Hi-5 concert and the fact that its the school holidays and you have a recipe for one busy, busy writer/mum...
...so sorry if things are quiet again for another week (but knowing me I'll be in to procrastinate anyway!)

Nikki asked about revisions - and whether the Christmas sub will be out then soon. Nikki, the amount of revisions varies from book to book - some are straightforward (like 'page 35 X needs clarification') to way more complex (like, 'the conflict is LOST halfway' - oops!). Sometimes you get it right in one round of revisions, sometimes two. Sometimes there are 3rd rounds - I've not experienced that yet but am bound to one day. Some people have the odd book go thru with no revisions at all - I haven't experienced that yet either but do live in hope! ;)

Revisions are kind of wonderful because they do make the book better and I'm always so glad to get my eds input because she really helps me in the murky bits - she seems to see things so much more clearly than me! But they are also hard - the set I have (and am about to go for a marathon stint at the library with) are tricky because its about tone - I lost the 'heat' in Modern Heat - and I don't mean the 'sauce' but more the upbeat vibe ;)
So I have to change the lens and put it in a more positive light... If it gets accepted after this round of revisions (and possibly another!) I don't know when it will be out - scheduling is a mystery that only the Gods (aka Editors) know and understand. But Modern Heats are usually out 7-10 months later. Some lines have a longer scheduling time after acceptance than others and special projects are completely different again.

Once these revisions are done I have a different book to write - that's the one due at Christmas - and its a Christmas themed one for the following Christmas. I'm so looking forward to writing it - it'll be my reward for fixing up the current pineapple :)
Hope this helps Nikki!!!

See you soon!

I'm home!!!

Wow - what a trip!
I had intended to blog a couple of times while I was away but you know what? I had a holiday instead :)
We had a ball- it really was (believe it or not) relaxing. It was sunny all week and we caught up with old friends (and their kids!) and I got to yakker for hours to my poor editor and I had a lovely time at the AMBA (Assoc of Mills & Boon Authors) lunch. It was so great to meet some of the writers I've gotten to know 'online' and others who have such a wealth of experience and are kind enough to share...

But now, I've come home and have to crack on immediately with the revisions to my latest sub and start the next one that's due at Christmas - the holiday is over...
...well, I'm thinking I'll start those revs tomorrow night because altho my delightful toddlers travelled exceptionally well, they were up for toast at 2am and I'm fairly sure they'll be up for it again tonight... ahhhhh, jetlag!

But boy, it was so worth it :)

Still panicking...

i have gone up 3 dress sizes in one day from comfort eating while panic packing and trying to cope with the 2 most grumpy toddlers in all the world... and i had my hair done and i have streaks so blonde they're grey and i look like morticia adams... and i have a 'to do' list longer than my simian-like arms all to be done in the twenty minutes in between the kindy sandwich making and school runs and coping with above mentioned grumpy toddlers etc etc etc

... anyone got any last minute long haul travel tips for twin toddlers????

Reviews: Bought: One Night, One Marriage.

It's September and my fifth Modern Heat is on the shelves in the UK. I must admit I'm really looking forward to going to London and seeing them there at WH Smith :)
I've just had a couple of reviews in for it - good ones too - yay - because I had a great time writing this book and really hope that people enjoy it!

Natalie Anderson’s latest romance manages to be sexy and sassy, but also deep emotional and highly poignant. Bought: One Night, One Marriage is a wonderfully romantic story of unexpected romance that’s bursting with freshness and exuberance, but which will tug at your heartstrings and have you reaching for the tissues as well.
Moving, well-written and utterly compelling ... Natalie Anderson has outdone herself once again!

And:

Bought: One Night, One Marriage, is a sparkling contemporary romance you will not want to miss!... Sexy, sassy and intense, this contemporary romance is full of so much emotion and drama that it will have you chuckling and weeping in equal measures!
Fast-paced, sexy and absolutely divine, Bought: One Night, One Marriage is another triumph for the brilliant Natalie Anderson!
Rest the rest of this one over at the
Pink Heart Society

Meanwhile, travel plans are kind of coming together... more on those dramas tomorrow ;)

Holidays are a coming!

It's been 7 years since we came home from our big OE - and I haven't been back overseas since (hubby on the other hand, has - but let's not mention that!)... and next week, we're doing the incredibly crazy thing of taking a toddler each on our knee and spending a day in a plane to get all the way back to London! For a little over a week!!!
Yep, crazy...
and I'm so excited!!! (And also terrified).
Hubby has a bro and sis living in London, he lived there for 7 years and me for almost 5 (well we had the last two in Edinburgh) and in fact we met in a flat in Kentish Town... had our first drink together in a pub called the Cat and Canary (who was who, you ask...)
We have lots of reminscing to do, lots of friends to catch up with, lots of food to eat AND I get to meet my editor and see the offices at Richmond!!! And then (yes, there's more) on Thurs 18 its the annual AMBA (Assoc of Mills & Boon Authors) lunch - so I get to meet all those wonderful writers! (Scary, scary). The 18th of Sept was my M&B loving Grandma's birthday - and when I found out that the lunch this year was on that date I took it as a sign (ie big fat excuse) to board a plane and sit on it for hours and GO!

Definitely crazy. But hey, what's life for? :)
