I did NOT rig this!!!

- Kate picked the number, I drew it out... it was the only way we could pick the winner from such fabulous entries... and look at the lovely winner we have!!!

Rachel Long - who sent us Daniel Craig... "because there's something about him that turns me to jelly within seconds. I think it's all those angles he has about him, shoulders, cheekbones, chest..(Pauses for a quick shudder). Nothing girly about Mr Craig. He also swears magnificently."

Magnificent all round! ;)

And here's an interesting tidbit - Kate says her hero from Ruthless Boss was inspired by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale!

Thanks so much for all your entries - Rachel, I'll be in touch soon to get your snail mail addy. And be sure to pop back soon everyone because there's more to come!!!

The last Perfect Pretend Boyfriend Contenders...

"I would pick John Kennedy because he always fascinated me not because of his money but because he was such a brave person and had a brilliant mind."

"My perfect boyfriend would be Ryan Gosling from the movie The Notebook. He is cute and has a great smile. My favorite scene from the movie was when the couple kissed on the dock by the water in the rain!"

"Ian Wright (Lonely Planet, Pilot Guides, Globe Treckker). I think he might be fun to be around and to travel with, as he is not just into laying on the beach."

"I would pick Alex O'Laughlin who played Mick St.John on Moonlight. He is so hot and I love his eyes. He is so sweet and strong, he would be a great boyfriend for real or pretend."

"Ewan McGregor hands down. Cheeky and not-overly coiffed!!!"

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to find out the winner of the draw!!!

Your Perfect Pretend Boyfriend - Part 2

"Brad Paisley, when playing a guitar.....Yep I'm attracted to the good looking singer with the sense of humor and the fabulous hands. If I had to have a pretend boyfriend, it would be him."

"Gerard Butler - need you ask?
Twinkly eyes, Scots pillow talk accent, nice bod, looks great in a kilt, great hair. Deal done in my book. "

"Ok, if I have to make a decision, I'd go with the handsome Patrick Dempsey - I recently saw "Made of Honour" at the movies (first movie I've seen in ages) and he is so incredible good looking, he makes my toes curl!!"

YOUR Perfect Pretend Boyfriends part 1...

"I have thought about this alot and i considered the following: David who could slay giants for me, Alexander the Great who coud conquer countries for me, Shakespeare who could write me a sonnet, Michaelangelo who could paint my portrait, Frank Lloyd Wright who could build me a beautiful house, Frank Sinatra who could sing me a wonderful song, Neil Armstrong who could walk on the moon for me ....... but with those guys I would not have the adventerous times or fun or sexy encounters with as I would with the one guy that I would love to be his girlfriend... Bond...... James Bond ....... Wow"

Ah yes Joy, but which one???!!!

Rachel has her answer:
"It's got to be Daniel Craig for me. Why? Because there's something about him that turns me to jelly within seconds. I think it's all those angles he has about him, shoulders, cheekbones, chest..(Pauses for a quick shudder). Nothing girly about Mr Craig. He also swears magnificently."

The photo says it all, doesn't it?

Another Perfect Pretend Boyfriend...

...one of the most fabulous things about the World Wide Web is that it is world wide - and I get totally thrilled when I look at my webstats and see where you lurkers and visitors all hail from - Brazil, Turkey, Finland, Hong Kong, Egypt and on it goes! Such fun. And its even more fun when you guys all enter my competitions! The only time I've ever sent anything to Egypt was when someone from there won a book of mine! Ditto Malaysia!!!

So here's another contender for the PPB from a reader in India - gorgeous Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Kahn:

"I would choose Shahrukh Khan, the King of Bollywood because I love him anyway but being his girlfriend would bring so much my way... Also it would just be a total dream come true. If only this was the prize!!!"
- If only Nazma!!! :)

Take a deep breath...

...and brace yourselves people. I wasn't sure about posting this pic because I'm not sure my blog can handle the heat - my books can for sure... but this is one step up from dear Hugh in-a-towel...
- but it was that fabulous M&B Romance author Donna who picked him and she's about to move house and lose her internet connection for a bit - so I had to 'get it on' (go let your mind deal with that a moment D) for her to enjoy while she could.

She sent it to me. She calls him her 'tv husband':

"Jamie Bamber. Man oh man."

Apparently he has a first class honours degree in Modern Languages from Cambridge.

I know what you're thinking Donna - not the only thing that's first class ;)

Will Turner vs. Captain Jack Sparrow

Well now this is a battle that's been waged over the internet for quite some time!!! And now it's crossed over into the Perfect Pretend Boyfriend competition - Kerryn's vote goes for Orlando:

"I don't have to think that hard to come up with who I would love to be the pretend girlfriend of.... Orlando Bloom! I absolutely loved him in Pirates of the Caribbean."

Now to be honest, I like Orlando - but I really thought he was just beautiful in Lord of the Rings... too beautiful in fact - he's prettier than most women I know!!!
And then there's Johnny... sigh... if only he were that little bit taller... As Wendy says...

"Johnny Depp - reason (does there have to be one?!) he's gorgeous, fun, intense, daring (he doesn't shirk appearing in odd roles like Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Pirates of the Carribean. He'd be intresting indeed! - as well as gorgeous. And I wouldn't have to share him with too many people as he's reclusive!"

Meanwhile I'm over at Fresh Fiction later today so pop on over!!!

And remember its not too late to enter the competition to win books, books books - just email me and tell me who would be your perfect pretend boyfriend and why, and you're in the draw!!!

I must confess...

...I'm on the doozy of a deadline at the moment and my characters are giving me a fair amount of grief, so these pretend boyfriends of yours are really bringing a smile to my face... hope they are to you too - keep 'em coming!!!

Here's one for today:

"Too bad, it has to be just one guy? I'm going to go with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the actor in Weeds, Grey's Anatomy, and Supernatural. This man is a beautiful man, on screen and off. He oozes charm, warmth, and for some reason when I look at him I get the urge to have his babies. LOL Of course I don't know him in real life, but every time I see him acting or making an> appearance I just think "wow this man would make a dreamy loving husband and devoted daddy". What we love about romances> featuring heroes who coerce the heroine into pretending to be their girlfriends... is the way the hero decides he wants more than the pretence, that he wants forever with her. JDM seems to have the potential to be the hero I want: sexy and exciting, but capable of such intense love and devotion to his heroine. He seems like someone you'd want a happily ever after with."

And we have a couple of fictional heroes as well:

"I'd jump to Roarke from JD Robb's In Death series. I love the way Roarke treats Dallas (although she wouldn't let anyone pretend to be anything around him.)"

"Mine would be a fictional character ... Ken Norton from Christine Feehan’s Ghost Walker series. I fell in love with him in the book about his twin and by the time I read his story I was sold. His struggles, his compassion despite them, his complete devotion to the ones he loves…I wanted to be the one he gave his heart to. He’s not an easy guy yet maybe that’s why I love him so."

As for me - chosing just one fictional guy is tougher than a 'real' life one I think!!! I do love Max from Mary Stewart's "This Rough Magic" tho - tough yet vulnerable... hmmmmmm.....

Stay tuned - we have some more SUPERB choices coming!!!

Tuesday, 20 May 2008

I told you it was getting INTERESTING!!!

I've realised I've forgotten to give you the reasons why you're selecting these guys as the ultimate 'pretend boyfriends' - so just to recap:

George was picked because "I can't seem to stop drooling everytime I see him. Especially, as his character in ER."

And Hugh because "I've had a serious "thing" for him since he was Wolverine in the X-Men movies and loved him in Oklahoma. He is easy on the eyes, can sing and who doesn't love an Aussie accent. :)"

And today's hottie?!

"If I had to pretend to be the girlfriend of any guy ever it would be Bill Gates...let's face it I could pick a good looking guy, or one with all the wonderful qualities of greatness, or an inventor or someone who has done great things for others from many many men but for me as long as I'm pretending I'm going for the one with the most money! I could learn to like him."

OKAY!!! Bill it is... actually I can sort of understand this (aside from the money thing) - I find smart guys attractive - yep, bit of a geek lover me (in fact I'm having to work really hard to ensure the hero in my new WIP isn't too much of a geek) and hey, Bill's a philanthropist too - he's not just hanging on to all that money - at least he's decent enough to give tons of it away...

...but ah.. you know... he doesn't quite have the face and bod to be on the cover of a Presents does he??!! ;)

Monday, 19 May 2008

It's getting interesting...

...as the answers come in. I've had a couple of real goodies - and a couple of fictional heroes too - which is wonderful but makes it hard to put a piccie up :)

So while I work that one out, here's one who's an absolute favourite in the romance writer community - and reader community too!!!

This is my fave Hugh-as-Alpha shot... but I know most of you like the Hugh-in-a-towel best! ;)

George Clooney...

... in perfect Modern Heat mode....
So far George is pretty up there on the list of pretend boyfriends we're accumulating...
I could definitely cope with him as my P.B.
What about you, do you agree?
Email me and let me know your ideal 'pretend boyfriend' to enter the competition to win my latest books and also Kate Hewitt's!

Sunday, 11 May 2008

I'm guest blogging over at...

Kate Hewitt's blog! So pop on over - especially if you're interesting in writing for Modern Heat ;)

Meanwhile, fancy some free reading? Kate and I both have new books out soon -

Ruthless Boss, Hired Wife - by Kate is out in the UK in June:

Powerful, wealthy and gorgeous, Cormac Douglas always gets what he wants. Now the playboy billionaire needs a temporary wife to secure a prestigious contract, and biddable secretary
Lizzie Chandler is the perfect candidate. From boardroom to bedroom…overnight! Lizzie is outraged, but Cormac´s ruthless persuasion leaves her breathless and wanting more. He sets her quiet, lonely life ablaze with his experienced touch – and virginal Lizzie is soon giving in to his every desire…

And,
His Mistress by Arrangement - is my June US release:

Jake Rendel is a successful millionaire who works and plays hard—unlike Emma Delaney, who's stifled by her uninspiring job. So Jake makes Emma a proposition to shake off her prim-and-proper image: for a month, they'll pretend to have a steamy affair!Emma's out of her depth—and things quickly get passionate in private as well as in public. Soon the girl-next-door is wishing the month of mistress make-believe will never end…

Now in both these books our heroes and heroines 'pretend' to have a relationship with each other to meet their goals - of course, things are never quite so simple are they?

If you want to win copies of both of them PLUS my UK June release, Pleasured by the Secret Millionaire and some other lovely extras then all you have to do is answer the following:

If you had to pretend to be the girlfriend of any guy who ever walked the earth, who would you pick and why???

Email your answer to either Kate (katehewitt@kate-hewitt.com) or me (natalie@natalie-anderson.com) and we'll not-quite-so-randomly draw a winner on May 30th!

Meanwhile I'm getting stuck into the new characters - yipeee! I love the planning and plotting stage - so many possibilities!!! There is a fabulous post over at iheartpresents - more feedback from the editors re their 'Instant Seduction' competition but this time they're giving tips if you're specifically targetting Modern Heat!!!
