I am a slack little Blogger...

But its only because life is throwing it all at me at the moment. In fact, I am SUCH a slack blogger I am going to rejig my whole blog thingummy and come up with a better way of keeping in touch with you and sharing news... so watch this space...

Conference...

... was really fab. My first and as I've not been let out of the house for some time, I was a little nervous but everyone was lovely and I soon got over it. The girls coped ok and got better over the course of the weekend. I missed a few workshops to spend time with them but I did get to all the Jennie Crusie ones and she was FANTASTIC.
I met lots of the other authors - and nearly died when a couple asked me to sign their copy of MY book.... too damn scary!!!!!! And I met some wonderful gonabees. So now I am exhausted but keen to crack on with the next story and apply some of the things I learned...
OK, more later, bed calls.

Packing the kitchen sink...

...so I have four bags packed (the teeny, tiny one is mine - the rest is baby stuff). I also have two car seats and one double buggy as well as a baby backpack and small chilly bag AND two babies to transport.
Isn't it going to be fun??!!

Kind of back together...

After the week from hell (not going to bore you with it), I'm back - only to be departing again in a couple of days for the RWNZ conference. Taking the twins with me of course and keeping them close at hand so we can have our cuddle fix (cos we need them!).
Poor old Brock is bursting to get out of my brain and onto paper but he's just going to have to wait until next monday when I'm planning to really get stuck in.

Hopefully we won't have anymore hiccups between now and then.

Am looking forward to conference and hoping to make it to as many workshops as I can (depending on the babies) - could do with some words of wisdom right about now and we have one heck of a guru speaking - Jennie Crusie - YAY!!!
*AND* I get to have dinner with her and all the other fabulous authors in attendance. I am terrified. I don't know any of them. What will I say? Do I have conversation other than baby-talk??!!

And most importantly, what on earth am I going to wear??!!

Crisis Management...

ok, so the twins have bronchiolitis and the 'big kids' have bad coughs and colds. We spent yesterday am in the children's acute assessment unit at the hospital after our GP sent us there. They're ok but we just need to keep a close eye on them... T2 especially has lost weight and isn't feeding well...
oh roll on summer I say...
...so naturally Brock, barely out of the starting blocks, is on hold. Never mind. His world is a good place to escape to in the wee small hours and I can write it up later.
We're in lock down mode and offering food hourly so adios from me until we're thru to the other side...

New beginnings!!!!

Well Rhys has run off to the other side of the world to hang out for a while and Brock is back in the building! I love the excitement of starting a new story - its all so fresh and fun and I have fragments of conversation flying at me - YAY!!!!!!

I'm also in the midst of trying to update my website - getting excerpts on and things like that - this sort of stuff is always on the bottom half of the list and I never get to it. At the VERY bottom of the list is the tax return... I have an extension - ya shoulda heard the tax dept woman on the phone, she was in hysterics as I tried to explain why it was I didn't have thirty seconds to think let alone fill in all her darn forms... the babies were in full chorus and the other two were requesting all sorts of stuff at the same time...

I'm sitting here with a beer and relaxing and trying to follow through on a few of those items on my list that have been sitting there for MONTHS but Im also sorely tempted to just go to bed.

Hmmmm, better finish the beer first! ;)
